Transportation Engineering, University of Kentucky, Lexington
My time in the United States as a Fulbright Student has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. While pursuing my master's degree in civil engineering at the University of Kentucky, I had the opportunity not only to grow as a researcher but also to discover new perspectives, people, and places.
My research focused on developing a Complete Streets Scorecard to evaluate transportation projects based on benefits such as mobility, accessibility, safety, and equity. I presented my work in leading conferences, published in scientific journals, collaborated with inspiring mentors, served as a teaching assistant and was honored with the College of Engineering Outstanding Master's Student Award.
Beyond academics, I embraced life outside campus, from exploring Kentucky's landscapes to traveling across the U.S. and experiencing American traditions firsthand. By the end of my stay, I had visited 41 states, each adding something unique to my journey.
The Fulbright program gave me much more than a scholarship. It offered me a community, a new way of seeing the world, and friendships that I will carry with me for years to come. I return home with not only academic achievements but also with the conviction that international exchange, dialogue, collaboration, and mutual respect can truly build bridges across cultures.
