Marina Gkouverou is an EFL teacher in public secondary education in Piraeus, currently a member of the Vocational High School of Perama. She studied English Language and Literature at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and is a holder of a Master’s Degree in the Teaching of English as a Foreign/International Language from the Hellenic Open University. Marina has worked as an EFL teacher both in the private and public sector for the last 20 years, teaching general English to young, adolescent and adult learners, as well as English for Specific Business purposes to targeted age groups. She has participated in various programs, seminars and conferences pertaining to the implementation of innovative and differentiated educational methodologies in teaching practices. In relation to her Fulbright plans, she hopes to make the most out of the experience, cooperate with culturally diverse people and incorporate the newly acquired knowledge in her teaching practices. In her free time, Marina hosts radio shows, writes poetry, enjoys a good book and always finds time for her friends and family. Traveling and the sea remain her true inspiration.
