Cornell University, Ithaca, NY
English and French
September 2026 - July 2027

Madeleine Kapsalis graduated from Cornell University in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and French and minors in Philosophy and European Studies. While at Cornell, she worked on The Cornell Daily Sun, the university's oldest independent newspaper, as a member of the social media team where she helped create digital content for the publication's online platforms. You can spot her in several videos on the Sun's Instagram page conducting spontaneous interviews with students around campus. Madeleine also worked as a writing tutor at the Cornell Writing Center, where she assisted both native and non-native English speaking students with all kinds of writing projects and helped them feel more confident in their ability to communicate their ideas effectively. Passionate about cultural immersion, Madeleine studied abroad for a semester in Paris at the Sorbonne and returned home fluent in the language. Outside of Cornell, Madeleine has worked closely with students from South Korea to improve their spoken and written English skills. She also has taught French and U.S. history to middle and high school students. These experiences deepened her appreciation for teaching and for the role that language plays in helping people connect across cultures. Madeleine is very grateful for the opportunity to work as an ETA at Athens College and for the chance to contribute her enthusiasm for teaching while learning from the Greek community.
