Talia Prussin is a PhD candidate in the Graduate Group in Ancient History and Mediterranean Archaeology at the University of California, Berkeley. She focuses on the economics of empire in the first millennium BCE. Her dissertation examines strategies used by the Achaemenid empire, Classical Macedonia, and the Seleucid empire in order to control and exploit conquered territories.
