John is a recent graduate of Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), where he received a master’s degree in international affairs. At SIPA, John focused on cybersecurity and technology policy. For his Fulbright grant, John will be conducting comparative research on the national cybersecurity policies of the United States and the European Union. John’s work will focus on the role of the European Union’s Agency for Cybersecurity, which is based in Athens. John will be collaborating with research advisors at the Hellenic Institute for Foreign and Defense Policy (ELIAMEP), the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and the National Technical University of Athens.
John grew up in New York City. His father is Greek-American, and both his parents are members of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of New York. As a history enthusiast, John is excited to visit Greece’s many historical sites. He also looks forward to sharing his love of basketball with the EU’s rising basketball power, and to enjoying Greece’s incredible food and music.
