Ethan is a recent graduate of Princeton University majoring in the Woodrow Wilson School for Public and International Affairs with a focus on Diplomacy and the Middle East. He grew up in the Greek and Turkish Sephardic community in New York, actively volunteering in the Kehila Kedosha Janina Synagogue and Museum, the only Romaniote Jewish Synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. He is currently the National Coordinator & Community Development Director for the Sephardic Jewish Brotherhood of America, a national benevolent organization supporting Ladino-Sephardic communities across the United States, and is working to connect the next generation of Ladino Sephardic Jews together through new programs that he has developed, such as the Sephardic Birthright Trip and the Greek Jewish and Sephardic Young Professionals Network. Prior to his arrival in Greece, Ethan has also been working closely with the Sephardic Studies Program at the University of Washington under the leadership of Dr. Devin E. Naar, a former Fulbright Scholar in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Ethan's Fulbright research will consist of documenting the unique cultural and liturgical traditions of the Jewish Communities of Greece, some of the oldest in the Western World. The project will result in an online database of documented recordings of the liturgical traditions as well as a corresponding booklet of these written traditions paralleling the online resource. Working with the Jewish Museum of Greece, this will also result in a curated a public exhibit on these traditions at the end of the research period.
