Christin Zurbach is a doctoral candidate in the History department at the University of California - Berkeley. Her dissertation focuses on the socio-political history of doctors in the late Ottoman empire (late 19th-early 20th centuries), in particular in Thessaloniki and Istanbul, using Ottoman Turkish, Greek, and French language sources. She is affiliated with the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki in the fall and Boğaziçi University in Istanbul in the spring.
