My name is Ioannis Papaioannou and I am an undergraduate student in the School of Chemical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. I like to travel and do activities that are directly related to nature, such as camping and trail running. As a future Chemical Engineer, I want to deal with environmental and renewable energy issues. That is why I am looking forward to the Study of US Institutes program as I will have the opportunity to engage in environmental activities but also to get in touch with people who have made a lot of contribution to this. I will also meet new people with the same interests and I will have the opportunity to learn their culture. But beyond that, I will understand and learn better the culture of the United States and the way of peoples thinking. My plans for the future are to gain more and more theoretical knowledge on the subject of sustainable development that I will combine with the practical knowledge I will gain from the SUSI program and other similar programs in order to have all the appropriate skills and knowledge to work as an engineer in an international organization.
