Chrysovalantou Milliou is Associate Professor in the Department of International and European Economic Studies of the Athens University of Economics and Business. She holds a Masters degree in Economics from Tufts University (MA, USA) and a Ph.D. in Economics from the European University Institute (Florence, Italy). Before joining the faculty of the Athens University of Economics and Business, she was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She has served as an Alternate Member of the Hellenic Competition Committee.
Her research focuses on the field of Industrial Organization, with emphasis on the analysis of the incentives of firms’ business practices in oligopolistic markets and their implications for antitrust policy. She has published various articles in international scientific journals.
Her visit at Columbia University, within the Fulbright Grant, will push forward her research and open new avenues for research collaborations. Upon her return in Greece, she plans to share the acquired knowledge and experience with her colleagues and students at her home university, encouraging the latter to expand their own horizons. She also plans to share her know-how with Greek antitrust practitioners.
