Antonio Shegani is completing a doctorate in Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry at the faculty of pharmacy at the University of Athens. Mr. Shegani has a bachelor degree in pharmacy, while post-graduation, a master’s thesis studies in the field of radiopharmaceutical chemistry at the relevant laboratories of the Institute of Nuclear & Radiological Sciences & Technology, Energy & Safety, of the NCSR “Demokritos”, allowed him to make the transition into the scientific world of research. His scientific background was enriched through graduate courses like Advanced Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Advanced Organic Chemistry, and Advanced Molecular Biology. This background is complemented with numerous presentations at meetings and congresses, publications in international refereed journals and participation in funded research proposals. Through the Fulbright project, he expects to enrich his prospects of acquiring professional maturity, independence, and diversity. After finishing his Ph.D., his plan is a lifelong career in academia as a researcher to assist in the progress of science, and more importantly to elevate the quality of life of the people.
