Summer Institute on Civic Engagement

My name is Danai Mandalidou and I am an undergraduate student at the Faculty of Law of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. As a law student, I am strongly concerned about issues of governance and management policies while politics, economics and international law affairs are some of my main interests, too. My preferential field of study is commercial law and this is the reason why attendance at moot courts on trade relations and relevant conferences tend to characterize me. In my free time, I also contribute to an academic journalistic team by writing articles. However, despite my love for the law studies, my real passion is theater.

As for this year’s SUSI Program, I aspire to further enrich my knowledge and broaden my horizons through it. My motivation is my eagerness to discover new knowledge, new methods, new people, new places, all relevant to the most interesting topic: civic engagement. I am expecting to learn a lot from other people's experiences and improve my techniques in group dynamics, team building, event planning and practical skills on management and leadership; all those elements that can make me into a successful lawyer in the future.
