Dr Michael Roumeliotis is Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean. He holds a law degree from the University of Athens and a PhD in jurisprudence from the University of Edinburgh. He has in the past served as attorney at law, and as senior investigator for the Ombudsman in Greece. His research interests lie in jurisprudence, epistemology, history of ideas and business ethics.
His visit as a Fulbright Scholar at Duke University School of Law will focus on research in the early twentieth century debate regarding the nature of the legal person, with a view to understanding its contribution to the subsequent evolution of the business corporation, and to drawing analogies with the idea of a corporation as a moral person, in the context of the subject of corporate social responsibility.
