Dr. Iason Koufodontis is a faculty member at the University of the Aegean and adjunct faculty member at the Hellenic Open University, in the academic fields of information communication technology, management and tourism. His research interests are focused on regional development, sustainability and tourism, with an interdisciplinary perspective examining economic, cultural, technological and political dimensions in the context of establishing successful strategies for sustainable development and regional cooperation.
During the Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program Dr. Koufodontis will be hosted by the Kennesaw State University (KSU) and will be integrally involved in KSU’s Year of Greece program. This initiative will be incorporating the views and the lessons from past and contemporary role and decisions of Greece in international, regional and local affairs. The Program consists of guest lectures, thematic presentations and a variety of other activities and events that will enhance the awareness and understanding of Greece in the campus community, opening pathways for cooperation at many levels and strengthening further the historical ties between the two countries. The academic side of the program includes course teaching, research and active engagement in ongoing KSU activities.
