Eleni Antoniadou

Bioengineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
2010-2011 Fulbright Graduate Student

The granting of the scholarship has definitely paved my way to greater horizons and introduced me to the American culture and the community of the University of Illinois. The past year I had the pleasure to be the leader of the Illinois branch of the Foundation of the International Medical Relief of Children where we had created a series of initiatives to assist young patients and ameliorate their state of living. My simple desire to help, reach out and heal has led me to a life-transforming experience, a medical mission to Peru, where we had the joy to work in underprivileged areas high up in the mountains of Peru where the poverty-stricken population had never had the chance to receive any form of medical care.
