Fotis Flevotomos and Fotis Sagonas

2012-2013 Fulbright Artists Program

Fotis Flevotomos initiated the Seeing with the Senses workshops during his grant period at the New York Public Library. In collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney and the Guggenheim, he presented "Seeing with the Senses" as an afternoon of art-making workshops, verbal description and touch tours for those with low vision or blindness. From that time, Flevotomos has partnered closely with fellow artist and Fulbright grantee, Fotis Sagonas. On their return to Athens, the two artists mounted an impressive series of imaginative and original so called ‘multisensory’ workshops for visitors with visual impairment at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Paleo Faliro. Further collaborations with the Benaki Museum and the Museum for Cycladic Art followed.
