Dr Eugenia Arvanitis is Assistant Professor of Interculturality & Diversity in Education at the University of Patras, Greece. She also teaches at the Post Graduate Program "LRM Language Education for Refugees and Migrants" of the Hellenic Open University. Dr. Arvanitis lived for a decade in Australia gaining valuable experience in multicultural educational and ethnic language maintenance policies. In recent years, she has focused on teachers’ intercultural learning and on pedagogical design through interactive WEB2 tools (using the Learning by Design approach and http://cgscholar.com platform). Her Fulbright research will take place at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. There she will re-visit the epistemic principles and practices of Intercultural Teacher Education on the basis of self-reflexive professional narratives, Culturally Responsive Pedagogy and action research using both cgScholar and Learning by Design. Her research findings will enable her to internationalize the curriculum of intercultural courses at the University of Patras and forge concrete relationships with American colleagues.
