I feel extremely lucky to study at Queens College where I met the founder of the program, Master Jimmy Heath. Jimmy Heath is a living legend of the tenor saxophone and has been called "Little Bird" in reference to saxophone legend Charlie Parker, also known as "Bird". He has played with the greats, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie and many others. My teacher, Antonio Hart, studied with Master Heath and one day I will teach somebody in turn so that the legacy of Mr Heath will continue. This legacy of a man, who has been around for 90 years, made me realise how art and life are connected together and form a chain that goes on and on. Also, I find the educational system very solid as I was given a mass of information, material that I can actually study for the rest of my life. All faculty members at Queens College have been extremely helpful and generous, sharing with me not only material and stories from real life but also ways to organize my thoughts and make me a better professional.
