2012-2013 U.S. Fulbright Student Program

"My Fulbright Fellowship in affiliation with Archipelagos during the 2012-2013 academic year was truly a unique learning opportunity. During my 9-month placement with the organization, I took several trips to Fourni Island to explore the feasibility of its proposed co-management plan. The experience of working within a small NGO provided insight into the challenges of implementing a natural resource management plan at a decentralized level. My research in Greece inspired me to learn more about the economic and political elements required in environmental decision-making and to ultimately pursue a Master of Environmental Management degree with a focus on policy analysis at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to the Fulbright office for making this opportunity possible."
